“Fill the Fin” for some Worthy Causes this Holiday Season!

Bradenton, FL—The holiday season is a time to help those less fortunate and so with that in mind, Yellowfin Yachts will sponsor and host an inshore tournament and festival as part of a toy drive benefitting Toys for Tots and The Children’s Home. The Bradenton, Florida-based boatbuilder’s goal is to “Fill the Fin:” completely fill the inside of a 36-foot Yellowfin center console boat with children’s toys.

For several years Yellowfin hosted a tournament in December for their employees, who would donate a toy in order to enter. It was always a lot of fun but this year the company decided to up the ante and open that event to the general public. Heath Daughtry, vice president of Yellowfin, says the goal is to have each of the supporting businesses conduct toy drives on their own, as well as to have each participating angler bring a new toy in lieu of their entry fee for the tournament. “There’s no money involved, it’s all donations,” he says. “It’s a perfect time to remember those less fortunate than ourselves and especially the kids in our community. We strive to be an excellent partner here on the west coast of Florida and we look forward to a great event!”

The 6th Annual Yellowfin Charity Classic “Fill the Fin” will be held Dec. 3rd-4th, 2021 at the Bradenton Yacht Club in Bradenton, Florida. The tournament registration and Captain’s Meeting will take place on the 4th while fishing commences at safe light on the 5th. Prizes will be awarded for the Top Overall Angler (a combination of redfish, trout and snook) in addition to the Top Anglers in each species. All fish will be measured, photographed and released alive. Youth anglers are also welcome to fish as part of a team.

It’s going to be a great weekend of fun and fishing, and it’s all for a great cause, Daughtry says.Everything benefits Toys for Tots and The Children’s Home—we’re going to ‘Fill the Fin’ and put on a great show for everyone.

The general public is welcome to attend as the teams return from fishing on Dec. 4th, 2021 at the Bradenton Yacht Club, located at 4307 13th St. W in Palmetto, FL. For more information visit www.yellowfincharityclassic.com.
